Deep hospital integration of sample management and biobanking

Dr. med. Michael Weisskopf is heading the Research Biobanking Service Center at the University Hospital Zurich (USZ), which offers scientists hospital-integrated infrastructures and services for the complete lifecycle of research samples. He is a physician by training (Zurich) and specialised in Pharmaceutical Medicine (Basel) with extensive experience in clinical research, biobanking, and IT/data research infrastructures. His professional background includes work in the industry as Director of Business Development at the largest Early Phase CRO in Europe (CRS, Andernach and Berlin) as well as in academia, having worked in clinical research and medical informatics in the University Hospital environment and having led the Data Platform for Research (SPHN) at the USZ. He holds a Master in Biobanking (Graz) and is engaged in postgraduate education in Pharmaceutical Medicine.
