From Foundation to Future: 10 Years of the Liquid Biobank Bern
Carlo R. Largiadèr, PhD, is Associate Professor of Pharmacogenetics at the Department of Clinical Chemistry and the Center of Laboratory Medicine, Inselspital, Bern University Hospital. He received his habilitation in population genetics from the University of Bern in 2002. Since 2010, he has served as Deputy Director of both institutions, overseeing clinical research services and diagnostics in pharmacogenomics, therapeutic drug monitoring, and toxicology. He also directs the Liquid Biobank Bern at Inselspital. Since 2006, he has taught at the Medical Faculty and Faculty of Science of the University of Bern and leads a research group focused on pharmacogenomics and drug metabolism. His research examines genetic and non-genetic determinants of inter-individual variability in drug response, with emphasis on clinical translation. He is President of the Governing Board of the Swiss Biobanking.
