Barbara Flückiger Schwarzenbach is the deputy head of the National Research unit at the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI). She leads the team responsible for coordinating Switzerland’s participation in European Research Infrastructure Consortia (ERIC). As Switzerland’s delegate to BBMRI‑ERIC, she was elected Chair of the Assembly of Members in November 2024.

She holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from ETH Zurich.
